INTERACTIVE ART
Curiosity Provoked Through Play
Do you have any childhood memories of tearing through a jungle gym and exploring the nets, tunnels, or hidden nooks? Can you recall a sense of delight in your explorations?
As adults, it's easy to lose track of that child-like curiosity. So many things are “known” and therefore “predictable”. Some might even argue that this gives them a sense of “inner peace” through a felt sense of control. There are no jungle gyms to explore as adults, and the invitations to play through exploration and mystery become increasingly rare as we age.
Or do they?
Curiosity is only a mindset, after all.
But how does one shift out of “I know what that is” and into “what IS that”?
Through art, of course! And other ways, too. But that would be a whole other TED talk.

ABOUT

PLAY PROVOKED THROUGH ART
We interact with everything around us all the time, so what makes it “art”?
I believe that answer lies in our definition of words like “art”, “play”, and "inquiry", and I define art as an expression of imagination which is, understandably, very broad. Which is why I like it!
I feel most inspired by ideas and project concepts that inspire emotions like excitement, curiosity, and introspection and these themes often surface in my work.

MEDIUMLESS
As in: I do not have a medium that I prefer to work in because I find it too constricting. I’ve worked with fabric, wood, plastics, metal, leather, crystals and fire, to name a few! I have learned volumes from a multitude of people through the process of creating and sharing new mediums, and hope to continue learning and sharing as my journey continues.
