Integrative And Evidence-Based Therapy
SPEECH THERAPY
How we communicate is a deeply personal expression of self. As a clinician with over 15 years experience, my work is grounded in evidence-based practice, while still maintaining the perspective that we are not our “symptoms”. I believe we are whole people with full, rich lives and I prefer to provide treatment through a lens that is more holistic than the western medical industry has traditionally defined.

As a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist I support speech, language, voice, and communication needs across the entire lifespan. I have worked in medical, home-based, and outpatient settings, helping individuals and families navigate complex communication challenges with clarity and confidence. ABOUT
.avif)

Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all protocol, I tailor therapy to the individual in front of me. This includes careful listening, clear education, and practical strategies that translate into real-life change. I help clients understand what is happening in their bodies and nervous systems—and how to work with them effectively.

A PERSON-CENTERED APPROACH TO COMMUNITACTION

WHAT IS SPEECH THERAPY?
Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) work to assess and treat many aspects of our physiological, neurological, and psychological experience. This includes speech, voice, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, as well as swallowing disorders in children and adults.

However, this is not all we do!

SLPs also work with people who do not have speech, language, or swallowing disorders, but also simply want to learn how to communicate more effectively (e.g., work on accent modification or cultivate other forms of communication development, such as enhancing your impact as a public speaker through improving aspects of voice such as resonance and melody, for example).

Gender-Affirming Voice Therapy (GAVT)
Gender-affirming voice therapy helps to align your voice and communication style with gender identity to express yourself more authentically. This process is deeply personal and collaborative, focusing not only on pitch, but also on resonance, intonation, and many other aspects of voice and communication that we will address together to help you uncover the voice you want to share with the world.

HOW SPEECH THERAPY WORKS
I use a structured approach to ensure that each session is productive and engaging. Here’s what you can expect:
01
INITIAL ASSESSMENT
Your journey begins with an assessment to understand your unique needs. I work with you to gather a thorough case history, and complete any diagnostic testing that will help inform your treatment plan. We will discuss your goals, strengths, challenges, and any other important information that helps me better understand where you're at.
Payment plans and a sliding payment scale are available for those in financial hardship, based on income. Contact meg@frontierspeech.com for details.
02
GOAL SETTING
Together we will set specific, achievable goals. It's important to note that goals are moving targets, and often change as therapy progresses! Creating dynamic goals allows for both flexibility and autonomy as you improve.
03
INTERACTIVE SESSIONS
I use various tools and techniques, including visual aids, exercises, and real-life scenarios for a multi-modal learning experience.
04
05
PROGRESS TRACKING
We will have regular check-ins that will help you track your progress. I use this feedback to adjust your plan as needed to ensure you stay on track.

SOME OF MY SPEECH THERAPY CLIENTS ALSO ENGAGE IN
COMMUNICATION COACHING
Over the years, during the process of speech therapy treatment, I have often noticed that symptoms that were initially thought to be physiological turn out to be related to chronic stresses or trauma that underlies them. New insights and aspects of yourself may reveal themselves through the speech therapy process, particularly if you are navigating identity shifts, life transitions, or changes in neurological function. If you wish to dive more deeply into your true resonance, I can help you take the first steps.

VOICE COACHING
When the progress you make in speech therapy reveals a desire to speak with more charisma or hold a group's attention while speaking or telling a story, I can help you to better connect and be present with your audience.

LET'S WORK TOGETHER
Speech and communication are our connections to the world around us. When we strengthen our communication skills we deepen the connections to our community and feel a sense of greater love and belonging.

Whether your goal is to find a voice that feels authentic to you, strengthen your memory and problem-solving skills, or rediscover ease and clarity in communication, I can help you turn communication into connection.
TESTIMONIALS

I would not hesitate to go to Meg for support or direction on my psychological and spiritual path. She has been instrumental to me in continuing to overcome the most difficult things I have experienced in life. From caring for me when I was in disbelief as my life changed, to helping me transition to my new normal as life evolves her impact is hard to quantify.
“I have expanded my portfolio. Meg has encouraged me to start and follow through with numerous projects by helping me set priorities and goals by assisting with templates to help improve my follow through and complete tasks. ”
“Meg has the innate ability to take my circle of conversations and translate them into coherent sentences that make sense. To be able to hold the space between the words is a reflection on her own self care.” -PD
“Before starting gender-affirming voice work, I hated my voice. I’ve seen some real success stories, and was very hopeful about working with Meg. Since starting my voice work I have learned a lot about how the voice works and caring for it, and I get gendered correctly on the phone now if I have time to prepare beforehand. Meg’s personality made me feel safe and seen around her; more than the voice work itself, our chats helped me with staying on track and growing as a woman. If you have a choice when it comes to speech therapists, Meg is who you want.” -MPM
“I had a lot of difficulty with word finding and remembering names, and often felt stressed about having people over when I needed to plan for meals, etc. Working with Meg has helped me to slow down the forgetfulness by writing down words that I can't think of and re-read them for at least a week, as well as many other strategies. For anyone considering speech therapy, I would certainly recommend working with Meg. I have not been seeing therapists before this disease showed up. It is less stressful than I thought seeing a therapist would be.” -Linda (she/her)
“I was thinking about quitting my job for safety reasons related to memory retention. Meg got me started on the path of remembering daily things and was upbeat and supportive in all the sessions. She gave me tools that helped me remember people’s names as well as other memory-related aspects of my daily life.” -JT
“Meg helped me shake the cobwebs in my mind, that helped open drawers of memories.”
“Meg is a wonderful person, caring and very helpful in her sessions.”
